Story
Eleven-year-old Ibuki visits his late Japanese father's hometown of Nagahama for the first time with his Taiwanese mother to deliver his father's remains. While there, Ibuki is cast in the female role his father once played in a children's Kabuki play performed during the local festival. Struggling with his lines, Ibuki becomes isolated. However, he meets Hana, a girl who is practicing the flute for the festival, and he gradually opens up to her. Hana suffers in silence, feeling uneasy about her assigned gender amid a general lack of understanding from those around her.
