On the shores of Lake Toya in Hokkaido, workers in Sasaki Farm begin their day’s work in the field by declaring, “We’ll spread love and joy!” They speak to their crops. Bugs and weeds are friends. Pesticides and chemicals are not for them. The son they lost so young is never far away from their thought and what they do. The documentary depicts the farmers’ year and their efforts to create a new future for the world.
